Port Angeles Fine Art Center
This is an outdoor installation for a sculpture event in the wooded park surrounding the Art Center. Ten
Plexiglas circles, 10”-14” diameter on steel rods were scattered in a
defined area of the woods. The discs acted as lenses that revealed a startling view of what they framed. The lenses simultaneously threw colored light onto the surrounding plants depending on the light of the day and time. Although somewhat comical from a distance, upon close inspection, the natural world was fiercely brought into strange and beautiful focus. Each color imparted a singular view of what was in front/beyond while coupling with reflections on the surfaces of what was behind you. |
